Whole School

  • Whole-school attendance this week is over our target of 97%. Many thanks for your efforts to ensure your children are in every day!
  • We are looking for volunteers to help out in our Bridge club on Tuesday afternoons. Unfortunately, without volunteers the club may not be able to continue. If you have experience playing Bridge and would like to help, please email the office for the attention of Mr Browning.
  • There are only 7 days left to order from our latest Scholastic Book Club. Just go to https://schools.scholastic.co.uk/coldfall/digital-book-club to browse the latest books and place your order. Every £1 you spend on this month’s Book Club will earn 20p for our school in Scholastic Rewards. A big thank you to everyone who has ordered so far; we’ve almost earned £100 in rewards!
  • On 8th March we will be celebrating World Book Day. The theme this year will be ‘Heroes and Villains’. Children can dress up as the hero or villain from their favourite book and bring the book in to read in a special extended reading time. Please do not feel you need to buy a new costume, we encourage borrowing, making or repurposing costumes in line with our Green Agenda.
  • A white iPhone was found in the playground last week, if you believe it might belong to you or your child, please email the school office.
  • Eat Them to Defeat Them – Your child will bring home a ‘Mission Pack’ next week containing information and resources to encourage them to eat more veg!
  • With your ongoing support our Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) continues to gather momentum and we are now ready to think about the next stage in the process. This involves creating wellington boot storage trolleys so that everyone has access to all weather shoes and can enjoy the muddier parts of our amazing play space.

We are reaching out to you to see if there are any parents with carpentry skills who would be willing to volunteer their time to help build one or more trolleys (we need 18 in total!). All materials and instructions will be given, and the trolleys can be built off site. Please see the attached photo.

If you are able to contribute your carpentry skills or know someone who might be interested, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to find out more, g.coetzee@coldfall.haringey.sch.uk. You can also sign up to help out via the link below:

Year 3

Year 3 will be making scarecrows later this half term in their Green School lessons, to protect the vegetables we’ll be growing in the allotment.

Each class will need some old clothes to stuff to make the scarecrows.  If you can donate any of the following, we would be very grateful:

  • Children’s pyjamas (long sleeved)
  • Long sleeved T-shirts
  • Leggings

Please give them to your child’s class teacher who will pass them on to Mrs Greene.  Any unneeded extras will be donated to charity.

Year 6

Next Tuesday 5th March we are holding our annual Year 6 Samba Competition in which each Year 6 class peforms their best Samba and receives feedback from our panel of ‘esteemed judges.’ The performance will take place in the Main Hall at 3pm and you are very welcome to attend, please arrive 5 minutes before the start of event.

Children are encouraged to wear bright colours/fancy dress for the performance – this can include face paint/coloured hair spray if they wish. Children should wear normal school uniform to school in the morning and then change into any costume items at lunch time.
