Coldfall’s U9 chess team scored a creditable 8.5 points in Lochinver House School’s annual chess championship.

The team of four – Max B, Sammy B,  Geronimo D-S and Noah H – competed against 16 other teams from 14 schools including our local rivals Rhodes Avenue and Tetherdown.

The team played three rounds of matches with 12 points in total at stake. Their score missed out on 2nd place by just half a point. The Hall finished top with 2nd place was shared by 3 schools – The Beacon, Hereward House and North London Collegiate.

Special mention should go to Max for winning all three of his matches on Board 1 and Noah on Board 4 for also remaining undefeated with two wins and a draw.

Many thanks to the parents who helped take the children to Lochinver House.
