Fairness is a vital quality for any teacher—especially in the eyes of children! Young people are quick to speak up when they feel something is "unfair," often equating fairness with everyone getting the same thing

However, true fairness means everyone gets what they need to succeed. That might look different from one child to another, because we are all unique and have different strengths and challenges. Recognising and responding to those individual needs is what fairness is really all about.
