Head Teacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Coldfall Primary school. We are a three-form community primary school situated in Muswell Hill in North London.

At Coldfall, every child is encouraged to discover and nurture his and her special gifts and talents through a stimulating curriculum that has global dimensions, going beyond the basic national curriculum requirements.

We have a dynamic team of vocational teachers and support staff who act as exemplary role models, educating and nurturing each child, enabling them to achieve high standards of academic attainment whilst also enabling them to become capable, caring and confident human beings.

Alongside our hard working, dedicated and highly trained staff is a whole community of parents and carers drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures, each contributing to our learning environment and the school’s wonderful and creative ethos.

Coldfall Primary School has the advantage of being set in beautiful grounds next to ancient woodland. We have modern, light and spacious buildings equipped with excellent play, games and sports facilities. Our facilities have expanded over the years in line with the growth in pupil numbers (from 200 pupils fifteen years ago to our present population of 680). Our modern facilities have helped us improve the standard of education and care we offer our children.

Finally we are proud to be designated as a Teaching School. This is in recognition not only of our exemplary practice and high standards, but of the work we do to support other teachers and schools. Part of our Teaching School role is to train new teachers. Every year we train a team of six to eight graduates to become qualified class teachers. Every graduate who qualifies through us is graded either ‘good’ or, in most cases, ‘outstanding’. This is indicative of the best practice found throughout the school.

Value of the Month

Emotional Literacy

The value for October is Habit 1 of our empathy project; Emotional literacy – this is the gateway to teaching children about empathy. It is ensuring children can recognise and understand the feelings and needs of others through their body language, tone of voice, facial expressions and words.
